10 Activities for Active Kids
Some kids need to move before they can do anything else. This pack gives that energy somewhere to go.
Move Your Body uses the outdoor environment as the gym: training animal movements from rabbit hops to bear stomps, running a speed-versus-stealth mission between two trees, leading an expedition where the child navigates and the adults follow, designing a five-station sensory obstacle course using only what's around, and creating a family nature yoga flow inspired by a tall tree, a curled fern, a bird in flight, and flowing water.
Adventure & Exploration gives kids genuine agency outdoors: choosing an unknown direction and leading the whole family into unmapped territory, drawing a detailed explorer's map from memory after any walk, reading a landscape like a naturalist on a landmark hunt, learning to read water at any creek or pond, and ending with a stewardship mission — exploring first, then spending ten minutes leaving the place better than they found it.
Every activity includes a story, a challenge, a parent prompt, a nature journal prompt, and a game variation. No supplies needed. Works anywhere there's nature to move through.
